Our community activities
We’re a small team, but we do what we can to support those charities and community groups which are important to us. Here are a few examples of what we’ve done in recent years.
Mitchemp Trust
Two teams from Globe took part in the Invesco Perpetual Highland Adventure Race, involving mountain biking for 35 miles, followed by canoeing for 9 miles, then climbing Ben Nevis the following day. Together, Globe’s two teams raised over £12,000 for the Mitchemp Trust, which helps disadvantaged kids who are struggling.
Help for Heroes
John Pickles from Globe was one of over 300 challengers to take part in a cycling challenge through France. The 300-mile trip started in Senneville-sur-Fécamp and ended at Dunkirk. The funds raised by kind donations from colleagues, clients, product providers, family and friends was over £7,400.
The Russell School
We’ve helped The Russell School to successfully apply for two grants from Aviva. The money has been used to build an outdoor play beach and tree fort, providing fantastic learning resources for the children. The next project will be to put a canopy over the facilities so that the children can use it in all weathers.
Annual Thames Draw Off
This event is jointly hosted by Be Richmond and Environment Trust. With lock gates left open for maintenance, the river through Richmond empties at low tide, giving an opportunity to clear rubbish from the riverbed. Three members of the team were delighted to help in the clean-up event in 2019 and look forward to next year.
