Professionally

I joined Globe in 2014 as an all-round financial planner. I aim to understand your needs and desires, keep you informed of possibilities and pitfalls, and help you create an achievable financial plan. In addition to general planning, and where it is appropriate, I recommend and implement protection policies, investment portfolios and tax structures to help you achieve financial security and more.

I am a member of the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute. I hold the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and the Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management, so I am well qualified to help you solve financial problems and achieve financial success.

Personally

As a caring husband and father (according to my wife!) I fully understand the need for appropriate financial protection, pension, investment and tax planning.

When not in the office or with clients, you will usually find me on the squash or tennis court, or in Richmond Park or by the river, or planning my list of jobs to do around the house (note: planning rather than doing!).

Get to know Michael

Here’s your opportunity to find out a little more about Michael.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

Cycling along the riverside to a club to play tennis, swim (not in the river), eat and enjoy (hopefully) good weather.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Sailing around the Greek Islands (the less windy ones!)

My favourite song to play in the car is:

Crosstown Traffic by Jimi Hendrix.

The first album I bought was:

A stamp album, I’ve been nerdy ever since.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Daddy Pig – then my daughter might take on more of the valuable advice I have to offer!

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

The Wednesday Morning 'recycling out before the lorry reaches the house' challenge. Personal best: 12 seconds!

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Custard, there is never enough custard.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

Curiosity, wit, modesty.

My pet peeve is:

Our pet cat scratching the furniture.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

Our daughter (subject to future performance!)

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

Armando Iannucci, Terry Gilliam, Yuval Noah Hariri.

The three small things that make my day better are:

Good bacteria, cycling to work on a nice day, spiders (I don’t like flies).

My proudest moment as a Financial Advisor was:

Receiving unsolicited thanks and statements of gratitude from clients who are pleased with the service they receive.

The three things I love most about my job are:

Putting clients into a position where they are well-informed, applying research and analysis to improve a client's financial position and helping clients to become happier about their financial situation.

The types of people I most enjoy working with are:

I particularly enjoy advising younger clients throughout their working lives to help make a significant improvement to their financial position, and thereby improve their future options.
