David Holland, Dip PFS
I have been providing personal financial advice since 2005, with special emphasis on retirement planning. (I hold the advanced pension qualification.)
My clients include former senior executives from EMI, BP, SmithKline Beecham, an Oxford Don and a former head of department at the Financial Services Authority, plus various self-employed businesspeople.
My previous career was in IT. I spent 27 years developing financial information systems, including 15 years in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo, where I liaised with regional stock exchanges, mostly for Reuters. This experience means I have personal understanding of the issues faced by ex-patriots when they leave the UK, and also when they return.
In my spare time, I like to jog and try to learn Chinese. I’m good at missing flights (three times), finding myself in riots (twice), and witnessing homicides (twice). I have also been arrested for spying. It was a case of mistaken identity, honest.
